Got Questions?

01

What kinds of horses are allowed?

There are no specific types of horse that are allowed on the team. Although if you wanted to be in a saddle seat class the judge would definetly favor a morgan rather than a quarter horse. With western the judge would want to see a quarter horse instead of a flashy high stepping saddlebred. These are things that are easy to look into on the MIHA page in the gudieline books. Also, there are absolutely NO stallions allowed on the show grounds.

How do I join the team?

First and  foremost, you contact us with either the button on the header or on the contact us page. Then you can talk to the athletic coach at WBHS for more info on joining. Then you can contact the team barn for team practice info.

What kind of speed events are involved?
There are three games, Cloverleaf, Indian Flag Race, and the timed event. The timed event is either key hole, relay, or down and back. The key hole is where you run down into a shote, and turn without steping over the line, and run back. Relay is the same thing as cross country relay only on horseback. Down and back in run to the opposite end of the arena and turn around a cone without missing the cone or knocking it down.
